The 2018 Midterm elections look set to become some of the most keenly fought in history with an emerging battleground being the issue of campaign financing rules. The traditional PAC, End Citizens United has recently played a key role in bringing the problem of campaign financing to the attention of the public in key battleground states in the 2018 Midterms where politicians from the Republican side of the political spectrum have been targeted by the PAC for accepting funding from special interest groups.
End Citizens United was formed in 2015 under the leadership of President Tiffany Muller who has spent the majority of the last few years looking for ways to reverse the controversial Citizens United decision of 2010 which allowed wealthy donors to fund election campaigns for candidates across the nation. The PAC has grown to include more than three million members and proved so successful during the 2016 Presidential election that Democrat Hillary Clinton rented the email list of the PAC to assist in her campaign for The White House.

The 2018 Midterms will be the latest testing ground for a PAC which caps member donations at $5,000 per election cycle to avoid conflicts of interest or a single donor having too much influence on the political future of the group. Tiffany Muller has been willing to endorse candidates who share the belief of End Citizens United in ending the unfair level of funding provided for some candidates and believes the Democratic Party offers the best chance of doing so; during the 2018 election season a number of well-known Democrats including Elizabeth Warren along with those Democrats fighting for elections against the so-called “Big Money 20”.
In December 2017, Tiffany Muller and End Citizens United announced the top 20 Republicans who have accepted funding from special interest groups and corporate Super PACs in return for tax breaks and an undue level of political influence. These 20 names were headed by House Speaker Paul Ryan and Texas Senator Ted Cruz who had originally been elected through a grassroots-funded campaign operated by members of the “Tea Party”. End Citizens United revealed Cruz now holds an eight-point lead over Democrat Beto O’Rourke for his Texas Senate seat which flips to a two-point lead when potential voters are told of the election campaign funding views of O’Rourke. End Citizens United are not scared of taking on difficult political challenges and have been instrumental in assisting the more than 30 elected officials of liberal backgrounds who have won special election victories since the election of President Donald Trump.

Betsy DeVos has a calm and polite public person. At the same time, her track record as a woman who will face her problems and fight for what she believes in is established. This was made obvious when she met with transgender members of her staff to inform them that President Trump would be rescinding a policy enacted by the Obama administration. The reversed policy allowed transgender students to use the bathroom that corresponded with the gender they identified as.
Despite being hired by Trump, she informed her staff that she actually opposed the move. While DeVos did not agree with the decision to end the policy, she didn’t make a strong effort to fight it. In the past, DeVos and her husband have both been known to oppose what they felt were Obama’s overreaching federal laws. Some are questioning whether she is a leader or someone who will just follow suit and be a team player in the Trump administration. Local residents of the state of Michigan understand that the Secretary is actually quite headstrong in her beliefs. It seems her public reputation and her personality behind closed doors are two different things. Members of the state government have noted that she showed very little fear when trying to influence the law in her favor, like when staunchly fighting for charter schools. This was true whether it came to using her personality or her family’s vast fortune. She has yet to exhibit this during her time as Secretary of the Department of Education.
To be fair, DeVos is still in the very early stages of her tenure as Education Secretary. It is reasonable to expect that she will grow into the role and become more comfortable expressing her opinions and using force to help guide policy.
DeVos was born and raised in Holland, Michigan as Betsy Prince. The Prince family is extremely wealthy and powerful in the region and raised all of their children in the Dutch-influenced Christian Reformed Church. Her religious and personal background allows for a deeper understanding of her views on religion.
She is married to Dick DeVos, who has run unsuccessfully for governor in the past. He is also a member of the family that founded the major mail-order retailer, Amway. The two billionaires fought hard for the voucher program that allows tax money to be used to send students to private and religious schools instead of their local public school. This is something that she is sure to bring to the table in the future while working for Donald Trump.
Worldwide Asset exchange, a decentralized investment platform, provides the opportunity for all to participate in the trading of virtual game assets. The Wax platform will lower the cost of these transactions and create a marketplace for in-game assets that were once non-existent. The purchase of tokens will unlock the ability of individuals to own virtual assets.
Security And Authentication
Critics of Wax concepts point out the difficulty in ensuring that tokens on the blockchain remain associated with a particular asset. Wax counters this argument with the assertion that their multi-level approach to governing this issue will provide for oversight regulation from token holders. Wax will leave the authentication process to transfer agents that work for guilds. A particular guild’s reputation is tied to its ability to properly authenticate transactions.
Fractionalizing Physical Items
In an era where it’s possible for a collector to own a percentage of Ferrari Testarossa from a favorite movie, A baseball card signed by Hank Aaron, or even shoes worn by an NBA star in game 7 of the NBA championship, the concept of fractionalization provides a vehicle to a world of new possibilities. Wax will effectively decentralize the governance of these assets, allowing for the process of authentication to be the responsibility of the guilds and leaving the transfer duties to transfer agents. Services provided by guilds with higher reputations will increase the value of an asset. The end result of Wax’s innovation is that assets that could never before be traded can now be safely exchanged and both their ownership and value can be properly authenticated.

The rise of George Soros as a political donor has been fast in 2016 after the man who is often seen as the leading Democrat donor has returned to the political fore with a rising level of support for liberal causes for the first time in over a decade. Many conservative commentators have used the name of George Soros as a sign of the growing number of wealthy donors who are looking to have a major influence on the democratic process in the U.S. and beyond; however, George Soros has not been a major part of the U.S. political landscape since the 2004 Presidential election when he provided around $27 million in support for the campaign of Democrat John Kerry, according to Politico. Soros has chosen to focus more on the work he has completed with his own Open Society Foundations that have been working to make sure democracy is understood at all levels of society across the world.
