At the start of his acting career he was billed as Paul Wasilewski, but in 2005 he began to credit himself as Paul Wesley.
Between 1999 and 2017, he has actively been involved in numerous TV appearances and more than a dozen movies. For more than 16 years he has played Stefan Salvatore, a leading role in television’s ‘The Vampire Diaries’, which he began directing during season five.

He began dating his co-star actress Torrey DeVitto in 2007 during the making of the film, ‘Killer Movie’.
